PORCELAINIA-

Artist/Teacher/Scientist Bobby Jaber and a very short documentary about his work. With a beautiful combination of chemistry and pottery/ceramics, Jaber certainly inspires those with creative minds.

Biffy Clyro is a vastly talented Scottish band that’s currently touring with Muse in North America. If you haven’t bought their new double album than you probably haven’t seen the “Making of the Album” video that it comes with. After watching what seemed a behind-the-scenes documentary of sorts, you really get the feel for what real musicians and artists go through to produce that fantastic sound.
Biffy Clyro for instance utilized numerous different musical sounds other than their base, drums and guitar in recording. They recorded at least these people and instruments of the top of my head; A pianist, a Mariachi band, a bagpipe and even a kazoo- all to get the most pristine sounds they could imagine. After layering their hard work together, you can really hear the magic of their music.
Although this band is huge in the UK, they unfortunately don’t have half as many fans in the USA. Take a moment to listen and perhaps you’ll become one. ;)

p.s. They’ll also be playing in the Couchella Music festival. If you’re going keep an eye out for them!

Yellow daffodils are the best. My favorite. Its so sad to only get to see these in early spring—but suiting as they stand alone at this point in the season; strong against the cool nip of fading winter and a solitary beacon of the blossoms to come. They have their time to shine but disappear before you get a chance to say goodbye. I even love how these flowers get lazy during parts of the day and lay over towards the grass as if taking a nap. They smell so good-like honeysuckles, I sometimes wonder if they taste like them too. Have you cherished your Daffodils this season?

Chihayafuru
An awesome anime that has released it’s sequel this season. If I had to choose a few categories to describe it would be the following:
Suspense
Drama
Competitive
Slight Romance
Humor

Even though it’s the sequel being released, I have to say that Chihayafuru is one of the best in season animes. I couldn’t tear myself away, in fact I ended up watching an entire season and a half in one night (and they weren’t those short 12 episode kind).
The animation for this series is spectacular, some of the best I’ve seen and the development is beautifully complex in nature.
I considered making a summary of the plot and such but I’d rather the otakus watch and be pleasantly surprised by what they find. :)
Websites I recommend watching it from:
Crunchyroll
Otaku-streamers
Crunchyroll has fantastic quality and no buffering, just a constant stream. I’m not sure how it goes if you don’t have an account, but I believe you can still watch the shows- although there might be advertisements like commercials. An account is only about 6$ a month and you get all of their benefits, but you can always check the comments under videos where members are always posting 3 day free trials codes—simply because they accumulate. Or you can get your own 7day free trail, but I wouldn’t recommend that unless you’re okay with submitting credit card information and will remember to cancel before renewal.
I’ve always found Otaku-streamers reliable and love the fact that they have absolutely no advertisements on their pages and run explicitly off of donations. You have to log in to watch, but an account is free and involves no spam emails. The only downfalls I’d say of this site is that they tend to be a day late or so on newly released episodes and also that their quality isn’t quite a pristine as what you’ll find on subscription sites. But the quality is much better than what you will find on other free to watch websites.
Both websites are my top recommendations and go-to’s; when I can’t find something I want on one, I switch to the other.
Anyways—-Watch this series!! Happy streaming.

"I live for that which doesn’t exist."

-personal, versatile quote from MsTeatime

There are so many ways to relay the meaning of this quote, all of which I feel are true and accurate. In a simplified sense, it could relay that as an otaku/gamer/fiction lover that I live for a world of fantasy that isn’t real or tangible. Another simpler translation would be that I live for those that don’t in order to honor the lives they could have lived.

But if you wanted to take it up a level, it also means that I live for the future-my future even. I live for the endless possibilities that my future could be, especially sense they do not exist.. I live to chase and chase further those potential existences, making real that which isn’t until I myself no longer exist in turn.

Is there a place you want to visit some day, somewhere far beyond the places you’ve been? Is there so much you dream about experiencing that you don’t know where to begin? Perhaps you desire a boost in your quality of life. Then it would be a wise decision on your, or anyone’s part to start a savings account. Maybe you don’t know what you want to save for yet and you don’t have a lot to spare, but a few years from now you’ll be thanking yourself because you are a huge fraction closer to sending yourself on that unforgettable trip. Even if you don’t have a dream trip in mind, that savings can come in handy in emergencies.
For me I feel this incessant urge to travel the world, learn languages, and immerse myself in different cultures. What does this make me? Well frankly, I have no idea. But I’m not going to let indecisiveness, non-believers, or anything else stop me from accomplishing just that. When you take steps to secure your big goals, they no longer become these unreachable dreams. As we all know, money tends to be one of the leading factors in what stops people from accomplishing these dreams- but we all have to start somewhere! Seriously, throw your spare cash every paycheck into a piggy bank and mark that bank with your goals and dreams. In fact, don’t even tell anyone about this piggy bank. Not your mommy, not your boyfriend. You don’t want to be tempted to use your savings for things other people care about(no matter who they are)—this is your secret piggy bank, ALL YOURS! As far as everyone else knows, this piggy bank doesn’t even exist! You’re only helping out yourself.

Vegucated on Netflix

If you have a hard time stomaching gore, than don’t watch this documentary. At first it was just something I light-heartily sat down to watch with my mom, but once they started getting into it…oh man. I don’t think I’ve seen horror movies that cruel, and I’m not even talking about the killing part..

If you wonder why animal cruelty is such a big issue, you’ll quickly find out about 20minutes into this documentary. I mean I was vegetarian before(just barely!), but I’ve gone Vegan- cold-turkey, no questions asked. I mean I’ll eat eggs, but only the ones from my friend’s chickens. She has about 7 and they have a happy little roost. Their eggs would go to waste with no males to fertilize them, but anyhow that’s not the issue. I don’t think anyone would want to be a part of this terrifying system—and you think laws stop it?? You think Organic, or Free-range, or even “Humane"  labels make a difference? Oh no, there are ways around those humane laws, which are explained in the documentary if you end up watching it.

To be vegan for me, even if only in the beginning, makes me one less consumer of animal bi-products or meats. This I hope will help in some small way, limit the number of animals being used in this horrifying and elaborate cultivation system; at least until something bigger can be done.

If you want to debate, or even argue the point—-I don’t want to hear or see it unless you’ve watched Vegucated.
